02:34 pm - Relationships
"Love is patient; love is kind.
Love is not jealous; it does not put on airs; it is not snobbish.
Love is never rude; it is not self-seeking; it is not prone to anger; neither does it brood over injuries.
Love does not rejoice in what is wrong but rejoices with the truth.
There is no limit to love's forbearance, to its trust, its hope, its power to endure.
Love never fails" (1 Cor 13:4-8)
There is an excellent model for relationships that I heard at a wedding. Love is like a bank account. If you want to be rich, you've got to put in more than you spend. You put into the relationship with kind words, gentle touching, doing things that make the other person happy. You spend by being mean, resentful, playing tit-for-tat, and by being demanding.
Everybody's relationship would be easier if the other person gave more. You've got to think about what *you* can do to improve things. But a relationship where one person always gives and the other always takes is not sustainable. The giver is going to burn out eventually. Really think about how much you give and get in a relationship. And think about how much the other person gives/gets from their point of view. If you can meet in the middle, it can work. If not, it's not going to happen.

06:00 pm - Johan, the rememberance
If this doesn't apply to you, feel free to ignore it.
Someone on my flist suggested having a get together so people who knew Johan could have a time to reminisce (OK, tell no s***, there we were stories), and a time to actually meet one another.
Which do you think would be more appropriate:
A party in New Hampshire
A party in Boston
An SCA event as a tribute: a sopping wet event whose main activities will be flirting, gaming, and smoozing. Maybe make it an Alfwine/Johan memorial event & throw in fighting?
Any other thoughts?

06:32 pm - Lyrics
Another sad entry. I'm afraid there going to be a lot of them in the future.
The realy sad thing is this was written about the death of his father. After I heard that fact, I cried every time it came on the radio.
